Tapestry Brewing: The Story
Jess Olson’s life just got hoppier than a West Coast IPA. She’s barely scraping by, single, and trying to raise her 10-year-old son when her dad Jim drops the bomb that he’s selling their family’s brewery. The brewery was her mom’s brainchild, but ever since she died the business has gone downhill. Unpaid bills are pouring in, the lights barely stay on, and they serve more pints of drively cheap beer than their own original craft brews.
Jim invites his daughters to say their final good-byes and retrieve belongings that their mother left for the girls. Her sister is a no show, surprise surprise, so Jess must handle the emotional baggage on her own. Among her mom’s possessions is a brewing journal that outlines many experimental beer recipes, including a rarely produced but celebrated brew called Stiltwalker IPA.
As Jess wades through her mom’s things, she’s woven back into the tapestry of the brewery and what it means to the small coastal community of Port Lansing through stoned beertender Ray.
When high school ex-boyfriend, Andrew Fine, who already owns a string of successful breweries, swoops in to purchase the place, Jess is faced with a decision: Is she ready to let go of Tapestry Brewing or is she prepared to step up to the challenge and restore the brewery to its former glory?
Can she brew it?
A single mom living paycheck to paycheck must confront her reckless past and crippling anxiety to prove she has what it takes to save the family brewery.
